ECE Envirschool Kidsfirst Kindergartens Lincoln in Canterbury is using their funding to build a beautiful greenhouse to propagate native seedlings specific to their region. The kids are involved in the growing process and upon leaving kindy will receive an ‘Earthday’ native of their own that they are encouraged to take home and plant themselves! The tree symbolises the fact that the child has been on our Earth learning about and caring for Papatūānuku for 5 years, helping our environment to become greener, providing homes and food for birds and insects, and making the world a more beautiful place. We love this idea, ka mau te wehi Kidsfirst Lincoln!
