Earthwise body range - first for environmental endorsement
Fantastic news! Our body range has just become the first brand on the supermarket shelves to receive independent endorsement from Environmental Choice. That means that you can be sure that you are doing the right thing for your family and the planet when you choose our products.
We know it can be difficult for shoppers to cut through marketing ‘noise’ and decide which products are genuinely better for the environment, so the Earthwise team is delighted to have such a clear endorsement from Environmental Choice.
As a little bit of background: Environmental Choice is considered to be the industry ‘gold standard’ for environmental criteria. It is the official environmental label in New Zealand, and is government-owned and endorsed. However the label operates completely independently; listing environmentally friendly products for homes and businesses and offering strong proof of environmental performance.
Our newly licenced body wash range includes four fragrances; Coconut and Manuka Honey, Grapefruit and Aloe Vera, Vanilla and Bergamot and Kids Splash – a body wash designed specifically for children.
We originally applied for the Environmental Choice licence after seeing consumers become increasingly frustrated by the number of products claiming environmental benefits without proof.
“People were opting out of the environmental approach even though they really wanted to be able to do their little bit in everyday activities such as cleaning the house,” says our operations manager Rory Garvey. “So we decided to make it easier for people to trust our brand.”
All of our home and body products are designed to be gentler on the environment and your pocket. We’re proud to stand behind the words on our logo — Earthwise, caring for your world.
But it’s not just what we think – earlier in the year we asked our Facebook community: Why do you care about environment choice logo on your household products? We were humbled by the more than 150 responses from New Zealanders with a genuine desire to care for our world.
Most comments focused on the importance of family and leaving the world intact for future generations. Many mentioned being a caretaker of our planet and the value of environmental education. Here are just a few that we’d like to share:
“I care because I want my kids to live a long, healthy life in an environment that has also been cared for.”
“I care for the health of my whanau and I care for the health of New Zealand's eco-system."
“I have children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and have seen many changes over the years, and not always for the better. Caring about waste will help improve the chances for future generations to enjoy planet earth”r the health of my whanau and I care for the health of New Zealand's eco-system.”
"I want my boys to have a nice place to grow up in."
"I care because I want clean air for my daughter and future grandchildren, and a healthy world for them to live in."
